In perhaps the only scenario that could make me not excited for an April Brewer game, Jeff Suppan is making the start today as the Brewers look to avoid the sweep in Chicago.

Follow the jump for the stuff we typically cover before games.

Carlos Zambrano (1-1, 11.88 in 2010, 9-7, 3.77 last season) is making his third start of 2010, and has had one disaster start and one quality start. The good one was his last one: He allowed three runs on six hits in seven innings to the Reds on Saturday, striking out nine. He did throw 110 pitches, though. He faced the Brewers three times last season and posted a 4.50 ERA, allowing 18 hits and 10 walks in 18 innings, striking out 19.

I'm not sure there's much I can say about Jeff Suppan (7-12, 5.29 last season) that hasn't already been said. He faced the Cubs four times last year and only had one disaster start. Overall, he posted a 3.80 ERA against them in four starts, allowing 31 baserunners in 23.2 innings.

Via Adam McCalvy, here's today's lineup:

Rickie Weeks 2B
Jim Edmonds CF
Ryan Braun LF
Prince Fielder 1B
Casey McGehee 3B
Jody Gerut RF
Gregg Zaun C
Alcides Escobar SS
Jeff Suppan P

And in the bullpen:

LaTroy Hawkins pitched 1 inning (39 pitches) yesterday
Chris Narveson pitched .1 innings (7 pitches) yesterday
Todd Coffey pitched .2 innings (18 pitches) yesterday
Carlos Villanueva pitched 1 innings (12 pitches) Monday
Claudio Vargas pitched .2 innings (19 pitches) Monday
Trevor Hoffman pitched 1 inning (25 pitches) Sunday
Manny Parra pitched 2 innings (29 pitches) Saturday

Enjoy the game!
