Baseball is back at Miller Park! The Brewers welcomed the Tigers into town tonight for an exhibition of their collective baseballing skills.
Doug Davis got the start for the Crew, and WW2 spy Max Scherzer took the hill for the Tigers. The Tigers got off to a 2 run lead with solo HRs by Austin Jackson and Brandon Inge in the 1st and 2nd innings. The Brewers answered back with 3 runs in their half of the second frame, sparked by Jody Gerut's 2 out single.
Then the bats powered down for both teams for the rest of the game, and the Brewers walked away with a 3-2 victory. Five Brewer pitchers (Hawkins, Coffey, Villanueva, Johnson and Braddock) each pitched a scoreless inning to secure the win for 17,000+ Brewer faithful at Miller Park.
The Polish sausage won the wiener race. Although, I am not sure if this was an exhibition race, or if it counts in the standings.
The last pre-season game will be tomorrow against the Tigers 1:10 CST.
