A Thinker: On Disaster Starts

Jeff Suppan starts tonight, and I don't think I need to use the "Breaking News" tag to let you know he's not very good. But, at least in one stat, he's not as bad as I suspected.

Rob Neyer recently coined the stat "Disaster Start" as the polar opposite of a Quality Start. A Disaster Start is any game where a starting pitcher allows more earned runs than innings pitched.

If you're like me, you're thinking the following: "Surely, Jeff Suppan is among the Brewer franchise leaders in Disaster Starts, right?" Wrong. With 15, Suppan is 21st among BrewersHow many of the top 20 can you name in five minutes?

The same rules apply here that apply to offseason Thinkers:

  • Post your score in the comments.
  • There's no reason to cheat here.
  • Don't spoil any answers in the comments until after 6 pm Central time, so people can take the quiz without having it spoiled for them.
  • If you get them all (unlikely), post your time along with your score.
Have fun, and don't forget to post your score in the comments!
