Ted Lilly is coming off of a shoulder injury and is making his first appearance of the season. He has been pitching well for the Cubs since signing prior to the 2007 season, posting FIPs of 4.16, 4.41, and 3.65 in the past three seasons. He's a two time all-star, including last year when he posted a 1.06 WHIP. Five current Brewers have ten or more plate appearances. I bolded Ryan Brauns slugging vs. Lilly because that is insane.
The Brewers are putting out the kind of lineup I like to see today:
2B Rickie Weeks
CF Carlos Gomez
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
3B Casey McGehee
RF Corey Hart
SS Alcides Escobar
C George Kottaras
LHP Doug Davis
And the bullpen report:
Claudio Vargas pitched 1 inning (20 pitches) Thursday and 0.2 Inning (12 pitches) yesterday.
Manny Parra pitched 1 inning (17 pitches) Thursday and 2 innings (35 pitches) yesterday.
Trevor Hoffman pitched 1 inning (11 pitches) Thursday.
LaTroy Hawkins pitched 1 inning (11 pitches) yesterday.
Todd Coffey pitched 1 inning (24 pitches) yesterday.
Carlos Villanueva pitched 2 innings (42 pitches) Wednesday.
Chris Narveson pitched 1 inning (19 pitches) on Tuesday.
