Game Thread #2: Rockies (1-0) at Brewers (0-1)

Hate NBA basketball? Me too!

Unfortunately, FS Wisconsin is sure you'll love it, so they're broadcasting tonight's Bucks game instead of the second Brewer game of the season. If you're in Milwaukee, you can catch tonight's game on WMLW. If not, it won't be on until FSWI replays it at midnight.

So, since you might not be able to watch tonight's game, join us after the jump to discuss the Brewer Radio Newtork broadcast of Randy Wolf v. Greg Smith!

Randy Wolf (11-7, 3.23 last season) is making his first regular season appearance after being the Brewers' biggest offseason acquisition. He was a workhorse for the Dodgers last season, finishing tenth in the NL with 214.1 IP, and did a very good job of limiting baserunners, finishing sixth in the NL with a 1.10 WHIP. He faced the Rockies four times last season, and went 1-1 with a 2.96 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 24.1 innings. He's faced Todd Helton 40 times and has a rather strange line against him: Helton is hitting just .194 against him but has drawn nine walks for a .375 OBP.

Meanwhile, Greg Smith (2-3, 6.57 ERA in the minors last season) is making his first major league start since the 2008 season, filling in for Jeff Francis, who was scheduled to be the Rockies' #2 starter but opened the season on the DL instead. Smith made just eleven starts between three levels last season and struggled mightily, allowing a 7.28 ERA in 29.2 AAA innings. He's facing the Brewers for the first time tonight.

Via Tyler Barnes, here's today's lineup:

Rickie Weeks 2B
Carlos Gomez CF
Ryan Braun LF
Prince Fielder 1B
Casey McGehee 3B
Gregg Zaun C
Corey Hart RF
Alcides Escobar SS
Randy Wolf P

In the bullpen, everyone should be fresh except Chris Narveson, who pitched two innings yesterday,

Enjoy the game, if you can!
