Doug Davis (9-14, 4.12 last season) is making his first regular season start for the Brewers since September 28, 2006. He's made 93 starts for the Diamondbacks over the last three years, so Davis is pretty familiar with the Rockies, going 2-6 in his career with a 4.97 ERA in ten starts against them, and posting a 1.69 WHIP. Seven current Rockies have faced Davis at least ten times:
Player | PA | AVG | OBP | SLG | OPS |
Troy Tulowitzki | 22 | .353 | .500 | .412 | .912 |
Jason Giambi | 21 | .176 | .286 | .353 | .639 |
Todd Helton | 17 | .462 | .588 | .692 | 1.281 |
Miguel Olivo | 14 | .154 | .214 | .154 | .368 |
Melvin Mora | 13 | .231 | .231 | .231 | .462 |
Ryan Spilborghs | 13 | .308 | .308 | .538 | .846 |
Clint Barmes | 12 | .273 | .333 | .545 | .879 |
Aaron Cook (11-6, 4.16 ERA in 2009) is starting his ninth season as a Rockie and is the franchise's career leader in starts (166), wins (63) and innings pitched (1087.2). He gives up a fair number of hits (career 10.3 per nine innings) and doesn't get many strikeouts (3.7/9) but doesn't walk many batters (2.6/9). Four current Brewers have faced him at least ten times, and one should be pretty excited to see him again:
