Hey, look, a win!

Yovani Days are good days, and Gallardo was on his game today.  The man went seven innings today, his longest outing of the year since opening day, and gave up six hits and one run while throwing eleven strikeouts.  And, as if that's not enough, he decided to go ahead and hit a homerun in the 3rd inning as well for Milwaukees first run of the day.

Rickie Weeks supplied what proved to be the game winner in the fifth inning with a homerun of his own, which helped contribute to a good day for my favorite Brewer as he went 2-5.  He would have gotten MVP honors were it not for Gallardo.

The eighth inning guy, LaTroy Hawkins came out in, you guessed it, the eighth inning and promptly set down the Padres with two strikeouts and the help of Ryan Braun, who threw out Chase Headley as he tried to stretch a single into a double.  Additionally in that inning Adrian Gonzalez was thrown out for arguing balls and strikes with Bud Black be thrown out shortly thereafter.

Trevor Hoffman got the save with minimal drama.  So, yeah, overall a pretty alright day to be a Brewer fan.
