Many of us BCBers will be at this game celebrating Kyle's birthday.
Felipe Paulino has yet to post a win and he's facing Randy Wolf. I sure hope this series goes better than the last few.
Pitching match-ups, lineups, and, if you're good, punch and pie, after the jump.
For the Crew, lefty Randy Wolf (3-4, 5.10) toes the rubber. Wolf hasn't been good in his last two starts, giving up six earned runs against the Phillies on May 14, and then surrendering six runs and five walks to the Pirates in 6.1 innings of work last Wednesday. Five Astros have faced Wolf more than 10 times in their (respective) careers:
PLAYER | BA | OBP | SLG |
Lance Berkman (30 PA) | .125 | .300 | .208 |
Pedro Feliz (19 PA) | .294 | .316 | .824 |
Carlos Lee (18 PA) | .267 | .389 | .467 |
Jeff Keppinger (13 PA) | .231 | .231 | .308 |
Geoff Blum (11 PA) | .500 | .545 | .700 |
For the 'Stros, the winless Felipe Paulino (0-6, 5.36) takes the ball. Paulino's had an up-and-down season, mixing in a couple quality starts (and one excellent one) around a fistful of clunkers. In his most recent start against the Rockies, Paulino went six innings, giving up two earned runs while striking out four and walking five. The base on balls is Paulino's bugaboo: he's walked at least three batters in all but one of his starts in 2010. As a result, he's only pitched seven innings one time this year.
No Brewer has faced Paulino ten times in his career, but there are three who've faced him nine times -- and check out these numbers:
PLAYER | BA | OBP | SLG |
Ryan Braun (9 PA) | .500 | .556 | .750 |
Prince Fielder (9 PA) | .429 | .556 | .857 |
Corey Hart (9 PA) | .500 | .556 | 1.375 |
