This should be another late night and those of us heading to the TimberRattlers game at Miller Park will join the thread when we get home!
After the jump, the usual collection of pitching match-ups, line-ups, and subliminal messages. All the cool kids are going to be there. Are you?
On the bump for the Crew, it's one-man wrecking crew Yovani Gallardo. In his last outing, YoGa did some heavy lifting, going 7 strong against the Padres with 11 punch-outs and only one run allowed. He also provided the margin of victory with a homer in the third inning. Gallardo didn't face the Diamondbacks last year, and, of the current D-backs, only former Pirate Adam LaRoche has faced YoGa more than 10 times in his career.
For the Snakes, it's erstwhile Detroit Tiger Edwin Jackson, who came to Arizona in a three-team mega trade last winter. Jackson has been torched in his last two starts, giving up 10 runs in 2.1 innings against the Rockies on April 27, and 8 earned runs in 4 innings against the Cubs on May 2. Jackson didn't pitch against the Brewers in the interleague series vs. Detroit last year; in his career, he's made one start against the Brewers, giving up one run in five innings and striking out three. Of the current Brewers, only Gregg Zaun and Joe Inglett have faced EdJack more than 10 times, and Inglett's put up a .455 / .571 / .455 line in 14 plate appearances. In related news: guess who's in the line-up tonight?
The Brewers line-up, with much wideness of love to the often imitated, never duplicated Adam McCalvy:
2B Rickie Weeks
RF Joe Inglett
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
3B Casey McGehee
CF Jim Edmonds
C Gregggggg Zaun
SS Alcides Escobar
P Yovani Gallardo
