The Brewers start a hot series in St. Louis with the Cardinals tonight. Yes, literally a hot series, because it's really hot there.
Matchups, lineups and more after the jump.
Projected starters for today: Randy Wolf and Blake Hawksworth. Yup, the Cards are at it again with the converting the relievers to starters...well, in Hawksworth's case, not so much; he was a starter in the minors but was exclusively used in relief in his major league time in 2009 and for the majority of 2010. His primary pitch is a fastball, and his main secondary pitch is a changeup. Oddly enough, the team he's faced the most in his short career is the Brewers with 6 appearances, all in relief. He's not yet allowed a run to them. That's pretty much all I know about Hawksworth, other than that his name would be great for an historical romance hero.
As for Wolf, is there really anything I need to say about him in this thread that would help? The Brewers are at yet another junction where a spot in the rotation is on the line with Doug Davis's impending return and there are a lot of pitchers who would be candidates for losing it. I doubt, despite performance, that it will be Wolf. A lot could be riding on this series for all the marginal starters.
