By this point in the season, we all know how mediocre of a pitcher Dave Bush (4-8, 4.34) is. But did you know that Bush went to Conestoga High School in Pittsburgh? Conestoga HS was ranked the 312th best high school in the US and third best in Pennsylvania by Newsweek in 2008. Wow!
Ross Detwiler will be making his season debut today. Detwiler is a hard throwing pitcher who also throws a curveball and a changeup. He was the sixth overall pick in the 2007 draft. He pitched in 15 games last season (14 starts) with not a whole lot of success as he posted a decent 3.86 FIP, but a 4.83 xFIP and a 4.90 tRA.
