The Brewers are just five games under .500 and are looking to sweep the NL best Padres. Isn't that nice?
If you look at ERA, Jon Garland (12-8, 3.25) is having the best season of his career. If you look at FIP (4.42), he is having the fourth best year of his career. If you look at xFIP (4.48), he is having the second best year of his career. If you look at tRA (4.18), he is having his best year by far. He's riding a low BABIP of .260 while walking a lot of hitters (4.02 BB/9), not striking out a lot (5.91 K/9) and not giving up many homeruns (.83 HR/9). His fastball this year is 16.1 runs above average and he has two other pitches above average this year: a slider and a curveball.
Manny Parra (3-9, 5.36) still isn't living up to potential. He used to play 1B in high school, though, so maybe if this whole pitching thing doesn't work out and Prince Fielder is traded...
Lineup:
Weeks 4
Counsell 6
Braun 7
Fielder 3
McGehee 5
Cain 8
Dickerson 9
Lucroy 2
Parra 1
