Win Expectancy Graph and Star of the Game Voting
For a moment it looked like Chris Narveson was back to his old first innings antics. He allowed the first two batters to reach and a run to score before even recording an out. But he settled down quickly and didn't allow a run for the next six innings. He exited the game allowing 1 ER on 6 H and 2 BB over 6 innings.
Brandon Kintzler didn't fare as well. He came in after the Narv-dog and struggled in his second major league appearance. He got himself into a jam and almost got out of it, but ended up giving up 3 runs, including a bases loaded walk. Todd Coffey and Mike McClendon finished off the game without allowing any more Astros to score.
The Brewers once again forgot to bring their offense tonight. Corey Hart homered and Carlos Gomez singled in the eighth do account for all the Brewers runs.
Also, for the first time since 2008, Prince Fielder did not start. He was scratched from the lineup with flu-like symptoms and sent to the team hotel. Casey McGehee filled in at first and Mat Gamel started at third.
