Win Expectancy Graph and Star of the Game Voting
At least the Brewers still have two more shots to win this series.
Shaun Marcum brought nearly nothing to the table tonight in a potential series-clinching game. He gave up seven runs on seven hits and three walks while lasting just 4.2 innings, and ended the game for all intents and purposes when he gave up back to back singles to Josh Collmenter (the opposing pitcher) and Willie Bloomquist in the fifth, intentionally walked Miguel Montero and gave up a grand slam to Paul Goldschmidt, his second homer of the series.
Goldschmidt is now the first Diamondback ever to hit a grand slam in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, the Brewers managed just two hits off Collmenter in the first seven innings of tonight's game. One of them was a solo home run by Corey Hart, but that was one of the few times all night a Brewer made solid contact. Tonight's best news is this: The Brewers won't see him again until 2012 at the earliest.
These two teams will meet again tomorrow night at 8:30, with Randy Wolf facing Joe Saunders.
