The excitement started early in this one, as the Brewers put up six runs in the first helped in part by three Cub errors. Counsell had a leadoff walk and was driven in on Luis Cruz's HR. Fielder reached when Aramis Ramirez dropped a pop-up at third and scored on McGehee's first HR. Kottaras reached on an error by Starlin Castro. Dickerson made it to first on catcher's interference. Kottaras scored on a Boggs single and Dickerson scored on Erick Almonte's groundout. The Brewers batted around and it was 6-2 after the first.
