Minor League Notes, 2011-04-28

Huntsville Stars (AA) 13-6
Postponed vs Birmingham Barons (CHW)

Brevard County Manatees (High A) 8-12
Lost 3-0 vs Dunedin Blue Jays (TOR) (box / pbp)

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Low A) 6-10
Lost Game 1 7-5 vs Quad Cities River Bandits (STL) (box / pbp)
Won Game 2 3-1 (box / pbp)

The entire Pacific Coast League had today off, so Nashville had no chance of getting rained out. Huntsville wasn't so lucky. Wisconsin made up some missed games in the usual minor league form of 7-inning doubleheaders. According to the box score, it was 43 degrees during the first game and 62 during the second. Those that live in that neck of the woods can tell me how correct that is.

Nick Shaw has a paranormal power: the power of bases on balls. As I haven't been able to see him in action, I have no other way of explaining just how many times this man can take a pitch. However, he didn't walk in Game 2, because apparently Trevor Rosenthal has anti-walk powers (unless it involves guys named Walker.)

More interesting stuff under the cut.
