I don't have particularly much to day about the pitching matchups today. Shaun Marcum hasn't had much regular-season experience against the Braves, and the sample size is too small in any case. Even looking at his 2011 sample isn't enough; as I saw in someone's tweet, the Brewers pitching staff isn't performing anything like their previous years would indicate. Gallardo isn't striking out batters, Narveson isn't collapsing in the first inning, Saito is giving up home runs and Marcum is walking too many batters. You used to be able to blame that on NL and AL umpires having different strike zones; that's obviously no longer the case. It's just one start. May this one be better.
