Shaun Marcum had some control issues in the first two innings but settled down in his last 4, resulting in a very good start. There were a lot of fly balls and line drives resulting in not much of anything from the Braves side of things.

The Brewers bullpen wasn't that bad either. Mitch Stetter avoided facing righties and got outs. Sergio Mitre did get a righty out. Kameron Loe ran into a bit of trouble in the 8th, loading the bases after getting the first two batters out. He escaped without run damage. John Axford closed it out without walking anyone, which is a positive sign.

Brewers fans, especially the ones around here, are loving having Nyjer Morgan in the starting lineup. Not only did he make some fireworks on the basepaths with stealing third base and bowling over Brian McCann to score a run during the 3rd inning, he made some fabulous plays in right field that his replacements (or, for that matter, perhaps Corey Hart) couldn't have made. The Brewers' need for speed is much satisfied by Morgan.

Ryan Braun's homer was finally not a solo homer. Carlos Gomez had reached base on a bunt. Braun finally got his 'revenge' on Tommy Hanson for hitting him with a pitch last year.
