Minor League Notes, 2011-05-09

Nashville Sounds (AAA) 9-20
Lost 18-9 to Round Rock Express (TEX) (box / pbp)

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Low A) 12-15
Won 3-0 vs Quad Cities River Bandits (STL) (box / pbp)

The entire Southern League and most of the Florida State League were off today, preventing Brewers affiliates from losing two more games.

Nashville's team this year is especially weak against former Sounds. Brad Nelson and Luis Cruz are getting on base seemingly at will. Despite managing to hit 2 dingers off of Seth McClung (who honestly hadn't been giving up home runs...before today at least,) having Chris Mobley's appearance today sponsored by the letters E and HR, and rapidly increasing Yoshinori Tateyama's WHIP, 9 runs was not enough to win this thing because Chase Wright, Jim Henderson, Chuck James and Sean Green combined to form Failbot 2011. 90-degree weather in Texas apparently causes home runs, because Taylor Teagarden hit 3 of them. Yes, that guy. But, hey, Brendan Katin and Mat Gamel are raking! oh drat, I nearly put McClung's line in the highlights. I wish

In better news: Tyler Thornburg!!!!
