Mat Gamel and Taylor Green are at it again, to the pleasure of many of yesterday's MLN commenters. Sadly, the Sounds can't face Brett Tomko every day. (Thankfully it looks like they miss Neil Ramirez unless he's the 2nd half of a Scott Feldman start on Thursday. Ramirez is absolutely fantastic, FYI. Also, I know too much about Round Rock's pitching schedule.) Daniel Meadows also made his AAA debut.
Cody Scarpetta didn't get much run support in his start, but the two runs he did get behind him were enough as he pitched 7 scoreless innings.
Brock Kjeldgaard: Once again, your Florida State League Player of the Week. And still largely unstoppable. He's raised his batting average from .251 to .291 in less than two weeks. He has a 1.555 OPS for the month of June. (Yes, two weeks. But what a two weeks!) The pitching for the Manatees today, on the other hand, could have been better; all runs were earned. Scooter Gennett's poor fielding just happened in innings where Lakeland either didn't score runs or the error didn't prevent the 3rd out.
