As seen on FS Wisconsin:
On today's game:
It was hard to tell early how it was going to go. You know it was going to be a high scoring game but besides that, it just wasn't a good ball game on our part. In all areas.
When asked if the wind was a factor:
No, I don't think that had anything to do with it. You made your pitches, you're going to be fine. It's not like it was 50 mph blowing out. So, no, we just didn't make our pitches.
When you play this many games, it's gonna happen. It's gonna happen to the best teams. And it was tough for me to watch that game today. I didn't like the way we were pitching, we didn't field well. Offensively I thought we swung the bats well and that was good to see. Usually when you get five runs for Zack (Greinke) I feel great about the ball game. But it was just one of those games. There's not a reason things go bad, just some games are going to turn out like this.
When asked if Zack Greinke struggled with command today:
That's what it appeared. It's hard to tell from the side where balls are going, but it looked like it was location. And again, if I had a monitor in front of me I'd be able to tell where he is on the corners but I couldn't tell.
When asked if he was ok working with George Kottaras:
Yeah, I didn't see a lot of shaking off or George having to go - he went out the first pitch of the game, before the first pitch, but besides that I didn't see him making many trips out there like it was a problem.
On Rickie Weeks getting thrown out twice at second:
Well, I talked to Rickie. I like these guys to be aggressive, but I just told him when we get down in runs and we're late in the ball game that's a time when we need to be sure of what we're doing. And he's played awesome. He's on base all the time, he's played awesome. And it wasn't a good game for Rickie but he's still getting hits and getting on base and I love the way he plays.
On Kosuke Fukudome:
It did break open the game. He had a nice ball game. He's a good player, he's having a nice year, he's a good defender, and when you make mistakes offensively he can hit.
