Midwest League All-Star Game highlights! Chris Dennis started at DH and went 1 for 2 with a solo home run. Mike Walker came into the game later at 1B and went 1 for 1 with a walk and a single and scored two runs. Tyler Thornburg pitched the 2nd inning, striking out 2 and giving up a hit and a walk. Austin Ross pitched 0.2 innings and struck out 1.
Let it be known that there is only one former Brewer currently pitching in the PCL who will ever be mentioned in these Minor League Notes, and it's not the one with Omaha. (Or the other one, but that's because I get sad about it, despite Greinke.) Anyway, Nashville got 2-hit last night.
Yadiel Rivera is hitting home runs in Helena. Or home run. Yup.
Yesterday was the opener for the Brewers affiliate in the Arizona League. They lost. I hope I learn these guys' names before the end of the season. Hopefully I'll find out if they use nicknames or not before the end of the season. (::grumbles about short-season::)
