Fangraphs win expectancy graph
Yesterday, Prince Fielder was one behind Ryan Braun for the team homerun lead. So, Fielder launched a two run shot in the very first inning. Ryan Braun was having none of it, though, coming off the bench in the ninth inning and reclaiming the lead with a two run shot of his own. Fielder, upset about Ryan Braun's one-upsmanship, decided to go ahead and hit another homer today to once again lock the two players in a tie with both now at 13 HR apiece.
But that doesn't matter because now there is a new contender for the team homerun lead. He may not be very close yet, but with solid Plushdamentals, Nyjer Morgan is climbing the leader board after hitting his first HR of the season today. Players he passed in HR on the season: Mark Kotsay, Craig Counsell, and Wil Nieves, among others. He's now tied with Zack Greinke, Yovani Gallardo, Erick Almonte and Josh Wilson on the year. Look out Jose Bautista, there's a new home run hitter in town.
Also, Yuni hit an RBI double and Yovani Gallardo was fantastic once again, allowing just one earned run in six innings and striking out five. Rickie Weeks also stole a base and Fielder was the only Brewer to reach base twice as, in addition to his homer, he also walked once.
But more importantly; Plush!
