Win Expectancy Graph and Star of the Game Voting
The Brewers have got to be getting close to road rock bottom.
Tonight they made rookie Juan Nicasio look like an ace, managing just four hits (all by lefties) against him over seven shutout innings, striking out four times and failing to draw a walk as a team for just the ninth time this season. Even Ryan Braun couldn't get a hit: He went 0-for-3 with a GIDP and ended his hitting streak at 23 games. He was left standing on deck as the final out was recorded.
Chris Narveson had a solid outing tonight but was a tough luck loser: He allowed three runs on five hits and three walks over six innings, striking out five. He was probably due for a little bad luck: The Brewers were 6-1 in his previous seven starts despite the fact that he'd posted a 4.85 ERA over that time.
With tonight's loss the Brewers are 16-31 on the road and on pace to go 28-53 away from Miller Park this season. That would be the fourth worst road record in franchise history. The three other teams that lost 53 or more games away from home combined to lose 290 games.
