MVP: Corey Hart (.046)
LVP: Ryan Braun (-.183)

Win Expectancy Graph

Zack Greinke only gave up 5 hits in 7 innings. He didn't walk anyone and he struck out 7. Unfortunately two of those five hits were solo home runs and that was enough to lose the game for the Brewers, as they were unable to solve the Ian Kennedy puzzle tonight.

The Brewers had two great chances to put any runs up on the board and blew them. They had the bases loaded in the 5th...but of course it was with two outs and Nyjer Morgan flew out for the third. The second chance was in the 8th against reliever Bryan Shaw. Corey Hart was at 3rd base but once again, there were two outs. Joe Paterson came in to take care of one little lefthanded batter, Prince Fielder. Fielder struck out.

The heartbreaking part of this game is that the Brewers only had one fewer hit than the Diamondbacks. They actually had two more batters reach base than Arizona. Their misfortune all came by the fact that all of Arizona's extra-base hits tonight were home runs and the only extra-base hit Milwaukee put up tonight was a double by Ryan Braun that led off an inning. The one consolation we can take is that Greinke wasn't giving up line drives all night.
