Stat Of The Night: GreinKKKKKKKKKKe

Zack Greinke's incredible, inexplicable, unprecedented, frustrating, unbelievable 2011 season continued in full force tonight, as he allowed four early runs but also struck out ten batters over six innings.

This was Greinke's fourth ten strikeout performance in his thirteen starts as a Brewer. He's only the fifth Brewer ever to have four 10-K games in a career:

Pitcher Season(s) Career GS 10 K Games
Teddy Higuera 1985-94 205 16
Ben Sheets 2001-08 221 15
Yovani Gallardo 2007-Present 101 11
Marty Pattin 1969-71 92 4
Zack Greinke 2011 13 4
Ten others n/a n/a 3

Somehow, Greinke has a 4.97 ERA in those four games. Higuera, Sheets and Pattin were all under 2 in theirs. Gallardo is at 2.33.

Overall, tonight's game was the 13th ten strikeout game of Greinke's career. Five of them came in 2009 during his Cy Young season. Tonight was his first career no decision in a 10 K game: He had been 10-2 in the previous 12.
