Prognostikeggers Week 8: Cardinals @ Brewers

I'm a little relieved that the non-waiver trading deadline has passed. It was getting a little annoying to adjust the MVP list every other day.

Week 7 is done, and it gave most of our nerves a little break.

In week 7, Dulzy took a commanding lead early and looked like there would be a blowout this week and get weekly win number one. However, Kid19 had a strong weekend series to force a tie for the week. Eleven points over two days gave Kid19 a tie for a first place finish. Midwest Muddler tried to make a run with two straight four-point days, but it wasn't enough. Proachinf also tried to make a run, but ended up slightly lower after the Astros series.

Meanwhile, MrLeam managed to get back to second place in the overall standings, but Dulzy has utilized nine straight days of scoring two or more points to open up a big lead. It looks like Dulzy might have figured out how to maximize the system. If other people don't make runs of their own soon, the new prize in the overall standings may become second place.

I've asked this before, but now that we're deeper into the competition, I think it should be asked again. For those of you who have had success in the competition, how do you make your predictions? Is it all based on instinct? Do you do research? How do you find a way to score as much as possible? I'd be interested in learning how some of you do as well as you do.

Here's an update on the change I was thinking about last week in Prognostikeggers, There won't be any changes to the attendance prediction. There aren't as many people scoring as I originally thought. Besides, having series like that gives you a nice advantage when you post regularly.

I'm thinking about how to work in a playoff system. It was asked about last week, but I don't want to create a system that's all luck based. My original intention was to just use the weekly and overall standings, and nothing else. However, it seems like adding something that will create a more final feeling is preferred. There's still some time, hopefully I'll have a decision by next week.

Extra Prediction for the Series: More sausages running around the perimeter of the baseball field for this series. It has been odd that Polish and Chorizo have not won during this homestand while Bratwurst and Hot Dog have multiple wins. Are they due, or are Bratwurst and Hot Dog on a roll?
