Axford, Braun, Estrada, Gallardo, Greinke or Wolf: Who Will Be Brewer Of The Week?

We have a first this week.

The Brewers are coming off a 6-1 homestand and had so many great candidates that I was unable to narrow the field down to five for BotW nominees. As such, here are this week's six choices:

John Axford pitched a scoreless ninth inning in four Brewer wins this week, picking up three saves (he's now at 33 consecutive) and sending one more to extra innings. He allowed three hits and walked two while striking out seven in the outings. He was worth .388 WPA this week.

Ryan Braun had a hit in all seven Brewer games this week and is riding an eight game streak overall. He had two hits in four of the seven games, and had a triple and two home runs this week for a .458/.500/.792 line and .398 WPA.

Marco Estrada made two starts this week in place of Chris Narveson and performed admirably, holding the Dodgers and Pirates to one combined run on just four hits in ten innings (0.90 ERA), walking two and striking out ten. He was worth .408 WPA this week.

Yovani Gallardo held the Dodgers to one run on just four hits over eight innings on Tuesday, walking one and striking out nine. Even though he appeared in just one game he was worth .421 WPA this week.

Zack Greinke made two starts this week and held the Pirates and Dodgers to three combined runs on four hits over 14.2 innings, walking four and striking out 17. He was worth .547 WPA this week.

Randy Wolf pitched eight shutout innings against the Dodgers on Monday despite allowing six hits and five walks while striking out five. He was worth .566 WPA in the game.
