The Brewers had a pretty impressive night offensively tonight, but lost in all of the commotion was this: Corey Hart's six inning home run was hit only hit tonight, snapping a streak of five straight games with at least two.
Hart was still a few games shy of the Brewer franchise record (Fernando Vina in 1998 and Paul Molitor in 1992 each had eight game streaks), but he is one of just 9 players in the Miller Park era to put together a streak of five or more:
Player | Season | Streak |
Brady Clark | 2005 | 6 games |
Keith Ginter | 2004 | 6 games |
Corey Hart | 2011 | 5 games |
Rickie Weeks | 2010 | 5 games |
Ryan Braun (3 times) | 2008, 2009 and 2010 | 5 games |
J.J. Hardy (twice) | 2008, 2008 | 5 games |
Tony Graffanino | 2006 | 5 games |
Lyle Overbay | 2005 | 5 games |
Scott Podsednik | 2003 | 5 games |
Hart still has a seven game hitting streak going, which is tied for his second longest of the season.
