The wheel of winners continues to spin in Week 8.
Thefreewheelin76 stepped on the gas early in Week 8 and didn't look back. Four days of three point games built a cushion that would be enough for a solid win. A few other people tried to make runs, but there was too much of a lead built to overcome.
In the overall standings, Dulzy maintained the lead, though a sluggish Week 8 has shrunk that lead a bit. MrLeam and icecreamman have closed the gap a bit, providing a challenge. Also, the great week that thefreewheelin76 had has resulted in a top 5 position in the standings. With the movement that's happening, bigger changes in the standings could be coming soon.
Some people have asked about a playoff system, so I will give one to you. I haven't decided on the full format yet, but here is what I have decided. The top sixteen people in the standings will advance to the playoffs, but with a contingency. If any people in the top sixteen have scored either zero points in the last three weeks, or have not made one prediction in the last week, will be ineligible for the playoffs. The person next in the standings who is eligible will get the playoff spot. For those who don't make the playoffs, Prognostikeggers will also continue with the regular format, and you can try to beat those in the playoffs and still post some weekly wins.
In the interest of this, I will also introduce something new this week. It is a summary of what people have done in the last three weeks. Consider it a type of power rankings. It won't mean anything for the playoffs or anything else, but it should help show who's been doing well lately, and who to watch out for.
Extra Prediction for the Series: Let's try something else that's new this week. I've thought about making a prediction based on the opponent's line score, but I feel like I'm forcing you to choose a winner in each game that way. Instead, here is a different way that incorporates this, but allows you to maintain in private who you think will win. For this series, prediction the winning margin of each game. For example, if you think the final score is 5-3, you will predict 2 for the winning margin. Note that I am not asking you to pick a winner, just a winning margin. Only exact predictions for this one. If you hit the winning margin exactly, you will get 1 point.
