On this day in 2004, the Brewers scored seven unanswered runs to beat the Reds 7-2 at Great American Ball Park. Doug Davis allowed both Reds runs on six hits over six innings to pick up the victory, and Wes Helms drove home four of the Brewer tallies with a seventh inning grand slam.
The Brewers also stole three bases in the game: Bill Hall had his eleventh, Brady Clark had his 14th and Scott Podsednik swiped his 55th, setting a new Milwaukee record. Pat Listach, who stole 54 bases during his Rookie of the Year 1992 season, held the record previously.
Podsednik would go on to steal 15 more bases over the season's final 24 games to finish with 70 but fell just short of the franchise record: Tommy Harper stole 73 bags as a member of the Seattle Pilots in 1969.
