Fun Facts: ALCS Game 1

So here's a quick turnaround for you: The Yankees just won the right to play in the ALCS last night, and tonight they open the series at home.

Our attention will shift back to Yankee Stadium at 7 tonight as Andy Pettitte (2.87 ERA, 3.48 FIP regular season, 3.86 ERA, 2.09 FIP postseason) and the Yankees host Doug Fister (3.45 ERA, 3.42 FIP regular season, 2.57 ERA, 2.52 FIP postseason) and the Tigers.

With only one game tonight, we'll ratchet up the fun facts:

• If the Orioles had won last night, this game would be in Detroit. The Tigers were presumably home last night not knowing where (if anywhere) they'd be going today.
• This is Andy Pettitte's second start of the 2012 postseason and the 44th of his career. He's easily the major league career leader in postseason starts (Tom Glavine is second with 35) and innings (he's thrown 270, Glavine is second with 218.1).
• Among active pitchers that have thrown at least 600 career innings, only Doug Fister (1.79), Roy Halladay (1.86) and Dan Haren (1.89) have walked less than two batters per nine innings.

Tonight's game will be on TBS, meaning we'll all get to hear about Cougartown a lot more.
