The Brewers get a chance to win two in a row today. It's called a "winning streak" and it's been done before, but not this spring.
Chris Narveson and the Brewers host Tim Stauffer and the Padres at 3 today, and Brewers.com has the webcast. Follow us after the jump for today's pitching matchup and lineup, then join us in the comments to discuss today's game.
Chris Narveson (1.59 ERA this spring, 4.45/4.06 ERA/FIP in 2011) is making his third start of March, and he's been having a really good spring to date. Until the last inning of his last outing he had yet to allow a run in Cactus League play, and he's allowed just two hits and no walks over 5.2 innings. He pitched 3.2 innings against the Cubs on Saturday, striking out three.
Narveson is expected to be followed to the mound by Wily Peralta, Tyler Thornburg and Francisco Rodriguez.
He'll face Tim Stauffer (9.00 ERA this spring, 3.73/4.03 ERA/FIP in 2011), who is also making his third appearance. He got roughed up a bit by the Diamondbacks on Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits over two innings. He walked one and struck out none in the outing.
Stauffer is 29 and set career highs with 31 starts and 185.2 innings pitched in 2011. He throws a low 90s fastball that rates significantly above average, along with a cutter, curve and change. He faced the Brewers once last season, allowing six runs on nine hits over 5.1 innings in a 13-6 Brewer win on May 11.
