Eight games remain in spring training.
At this point, it's a good time to remind everyone about the regular season requirements for bonus predictions. There are four tiers for bonus predictions: 21-30%, 11-20%, 2-10%, and 1% or less. If it's not in one of these tiers, it does not count. I think the best way to cover this would be to look at some of the more common predictions and rate them. Note that around 25 games into the season, I will start reevaluating these based on what the players have done during the regular season.
Example #1 - [Player] hits a home run.
This will always be worth at least one point (unless a player would be around a pace for over 50 HR). To start the season, here are some examples:
1 Point - Ryan Braun
2 Points - Rickie Weeks, Corey Hart, Aramis Ramirez, Alex Gonzalez, Mat Gamel
3 Points - Jonathan Lucroy, Nyjer Morgan, Carlos Gomez
Example #2 - [Starter] has X strikeouts.
This would also be dictated by the player. To make it easy for you, here are the the tiers for each projected starter to start the season:
Zack Greinke - 10+ = 2 points, 11+ = 3 points, 13+ = 5 points (1 point not available)
Yovani Gallardo - 8+ = 1 point, 10+ = 2 points, 11+ = 3 points, 14+ = 5 points
Randy Wolf - 6+ = 2 points, 7+ = 3 points, 11+ = 5 points (1 point not available)
Shaun Marcum - 7+ = 1 point, 8+ = 2 points, 9+ = 3 points, 11+ = 5 points
Chris Narveson - 6+ = 2 points, 8+ = 3 points, 10+ = 5 points (1 point not available)
The best way to evaluate a prediction is to use a site like Baseball-Reference.com. That's the fastest way to evaluate a prediction. If you want some help with figuring out some prediction, post your questions in the comments. I'll let you know what they would be worth in the regular season.
With that said, let's continue the last week of spring training.
