Brewers, White Sox Combine For 20 Runs: Brewers Score More, Win 13-7

W: Kameron Loe (2-0)
L: Ryan Kussmaul (0-1)

HR: Brooks Conrad (4), Jason Jaramillo (1), Dayan Viciedo (2)

This wasn't a pretty spring training game and it certainly wasn't one Zack Greinke will want to remember, but it was a win to get the Brewers back above .500 at 15-14-2.

Greinke closed out a remarkable spring with a dud of an outing today: Tied to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second he allowed five runs on three hits, two walks and an error, and another score in the third. He finished just three innings today and allowed the aforementioned six runs (five earned) on five hits and three walks, striking out just two.

The Brewer offense picked him up, however, plating 13 runs on 17 hits. New Brewer minor leaguer Jason Jaramillo blew the game open with an eighth inning grand slam to give the Brewers a five run lead they would not relinquish. Cesar Izturis had three hits today, while Jonathan Lucroy and Norichika Aoki each had two. Mat Gamel was on base three times, going 1-for-2 with a pair of walks.

The lone dark cloud today was the Brewer defense, as Brooks Conrad, Nyjer Morgan and Cesar Izturis all committed errors and Jonathan Lucroy had a passed ball.

The Brewers play what's probably an ill-conceived day-night split-squad doubleheader tomorrow, with Kyle Heckathorn and most of the Huntsville Stars taking on the Cubs in Mesa at 2:05 and Randy Wolf and most of the actual Brewers taking on the Diamondbacks at Chase Field at 8:40.
