He's not walking here, but he did walk twice in tonight's game.

In all of the excitement and drama in tonight's game, something that might have been missed was Alex Gonzalez's two walks. It may not seem like much, but it doubled the number of walks he has taken this season from two to four.

The last time Alex Gonzalez recorded two walks in the same game was on September 3, 2011 against the Dodgers. Before that, it was over a year between two walk games. Here is the list of his last five two-walk games before today:

Date Opponent
Sept. 3, 2011 Dodgers
June 14, 2010 Padres
May 3, 2010 Indians
April 8, 2009 Mets
Sept. 4, 2007 Mets

Overall, this was his 28th two-plus walk game of his career. Here is the breakdown of how many games of two or more walks he had by season:

Season Games Played 2+ BB Games
1998 25 2
1999 136 1
2000 109 2
2001 145 4
2002 42 1
2003 150 2
2004 159 2
2005 130 4
2006 111 1
2007 110 4
2008 0 0
2009 112 1
2010 157 2
2011 149 1
2012 13 1

Note that Gonzalez sat out the entire 2008 season due to knee surgery.

The New York Mets are responsible for six of these two-plus walk games. Montreal/Washington is second with three of them. Also, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Philidelphia, Arizona, LA Dodgers, Houston, and Milwaukee have each contributed to two of these games.
