Cardinals 13, Brewers 1: Ron Roenicke's Postgame Comments

As seen on FS Wisconsin:

Joined in progress, but probably talking about Yovani Gallardo:

Well, location was not good. Stuff was a little bit down but he wasn't locating the ball well at all. Left his breaking pitches up, fastballs were a lot of them down the middle. They hit the ball hard, it went in, they hit the ball soft and it went in. So everything went wrong.

On going to the bullpen early tonight:

We're fine...if Marco (Estrada) throws a good game tomorrow we're fine. But if he comes out and has a tough game we're going to be using up all our guys.

What do you say to the team after a game like this?

No, I don't think there's anything I need to say to the guys. Just trying to get Yo back on track and we'll see if we can get it going.

Is it possible Gallardo's issues facing the Cardinals are partly mental?

Well I think it can be. I think anytime a team hits you there's a lot of mental doubts and your confidence just isn't as good. It's the same when you pitch really well against a team you always know it and you come in and the offense is great and you throw a good game.

Question was muffled, but I think it was about Manny Parra:

Second inning I thought he threw the ball real well. First inning, the command wasn't quite there and then he got going and threw some great fastballs, a lot of real good split-fingers, it was a good outing.

On Jake Westbrook:

Yeah, I think we scored one and we've got a good chance to score another, and when he gets out of that he's on a roll and he's throwing the ball down in the zone well. He's got the great sink on the ball, he gets ground balls when he needs to. He's throwing the ball really well.
