As you may have noticed if you've been around the site for the last hour or so, SB Nation launched a new feature this morning that I think many of you will like. Let's start with what they've asked me to tell you about it:
Pick 6 is a daily pick'em game that pits you against other members of Brew Crew Ball and the entire SB Nation network. Now's your chance.Each day, users can choose six players to fill out their daily roster: a catcher, corner infielder, middle infielder, outfielder, starting pitcher, and relief pitcher.The twist? Each user only has $120 of imaginary money to spend per day, and each player has a different cost. Player values are determined by their production and their popularity in Pick 6.Successful users will strike a balance between expensive players and under-the-radar talent to take their lineup to the next level. Since this is a daily game there is no draft, no lengthy sign-up process - just you competing against fellow blog members for bragging rights.It only takes a couple minutes to Pick your 6 - it's so easy to play! I and many/most of the other SBN site managers were part of the beta test for this game, and I can tell you I think it's pretty cool and I'm excited to see how it works out for BCB. Before you ask, though, here are a couple of questions I've anticipated:
- Pick 6 is not replacing Prognostikeggers at this point. -JP- has done a great job with that game and for the time being we're going to continue it and see how it goes.
- While I'm ok with some discussion about this game in certain threads, I'm still going to mock you if you're rooting for your Pick 6 players instead of the Brewers in the game thread, and I'm absolutely going to mock you if you're rooting for your fake team at the expense of the Brewers.
Anyway, I'd encourage all of you to give Pick 6 a try today. The SBN Tech team has done a really nice job creating a game that will integrate into our sites and give our communities a chance to play against each other. Good luck!
