In Shaun Marcum's strong start tonight, he posted nine strikeouts. It's a big mark for several reasons. First of all, it's his highest strikeout total in his two seasons as a Brewer. It's also his highest strikeout total since July 30, 2010. Here is a list of his best strikeout performances in his career:
Date | Opponent | Strikeouts |
06/16/2007 | Nationals | 11 |
06/30/2006 | Red Sox | 10 |
07/30/2010 | Indians | 10 |
05/02/2008 | White Sox | 9 |
05/07/2008 | Rays | 9 |
06/11/2008 | Mariners | 9 |
05/28/2012 | Dodgers | 9 |
This was also only the fourth game of the season where a starter had at least nine strikeouts. Two of the other starts were by Zack Greinke, and the third came from Marco Estrada.
