As I was tracking the game tonight, Kyle sent me an email for a recommendation for stat of the night. Here's what he wrote:

The Brewers have struck out at least ten batters as a team in three straight games. It's only the 16th time in franchise history, but the second time this season. Franchise record is five, set in September 2010.

I couldn't say it any better than that, so I thought I would share that with you. Digging into it further, here are some interesting facts:

  • Only one of the streaks occurred while the Brewers were in the AL, and only one in the first 35 seasons of the franchise.
  • Only two streaks occurred only on the road, and only one was a complete road series (August 10-12, 2004 against the Braves; the June 14-16 streak against the Cubs was part of a four-game series).
  • Four of the streaks included a complete series against a team.
  • One streak included each game in a four-game series (Sept. 26-30, 2005, a four-game home series against the Reds)
  • The current streak is also only the third time in franchise the Brewers have struck out 12 or more in at least three games in a row.

Here is a list of those streaks (in reverse chronological order, starred games are extra-inning games):

  • June 3-6, 2012: 6/3 vs. Pirates (12), 6/5 vs. Cubs (12), 6/6 vs. Cubs (14)
