Adam McCalvy just tweeted the identity of Thornburg's replacement in the bullpen:
The Brewers' mystery bullpen addition is Mike McClendon. Replaces Thornburg: bit.ly/MVVQ6T

This will be McClendon's third time with the Brewers in 2012. He appeared in four games earlier this season, pitching eight innings and posting a 6.75 ERA and 3.94 FIP. In Nashville this season, he has posted a 2.63 ERA and 3.39 FIP. His K/9 rate has dropped this season in Nashville to 5.53, while his BB/9 rate is up to 3.98. One good sign is that he does not allow many home runs, posting a 0.44 HR/9 in Nashville.
In his few games with the Brewers earlier this season, McClendon was mainly used for long relief. With the changes and general ineffectiveness that has hurt the Brewers bullpen in recent days, it will be interesting to see how he is used.
