When Norichika Aoki homered in the first inning tonight it stretched his hitting streak to 13 consecutive games. He's now tied for the 21st longest streak in all of baseball this season. He's also tied for the second longest active streak:
Player | Team | Start Date | Games |
Adrian Gonzalez | Red Sox | June 20 | 16 |
Norichika Aoki | Brewers | June 23 | 13 |
Austin Jackson | Tigers | June 24 | 13 |
Gonzalez and Jackson also extended their streaks with hits tonight.
Aoki's streak is the second longest for a Brewer this season: Ryan Braun had an 18-gamer from June 5-24. He's also now tied for the 20th longest Brewer streak in the Miller Park era. He could move into 16th with a hit tomorrow.
