Win Expectancy Graph, Star of the Game Voting, and Box Score

It would be nice if the Brewers could play like this every day.

It started out looking like it would be one of those games. Through three innings, the Brewers had managed two baserunners. Meanwhile, the Phillies were on the board first thanks to two consecutive doubles from Ryan Howard and Chase Utley. However, the fourth changed the game around for the Brewers. Ten players batted in the inning, which was highlighted by eight straight batters reaching base and two-run RBI hits from Nyjer Morgan and Yovani Gallardo. The Brewers got another two runs on the board in the sixth from a home run from Ryan Braun. That was more than enough for the Brewers tonight.

Yovani Gallardo had another great game tonight. In seven innings, he allowed a total of hour hits and one run, while walking two and striking out nine. Over his last three innings, he allowed a total of one baserunner. The bullpen came in after that and kept the Brewers ahead. Francisco Rodriguez had a clean inning, and Livan Hernandez allowed a run on two hits to finish the game for the Brewers.

The Brewers continue their homestand against the Phillies tomorrow evening. Cole Hamels starts for the Phillies, and Mike Fiers looks to rebound from a rough start on Monday. First pitch is at 6:10 PM.
