The recent Brewer playoff push has brought some renewed attention to this team, as demonstrated by the fact that I made no less than three radio appearances in the span of an hour and a half yesterday. The first was most of an hour with friend of the site Justin Hull on The Home Stretch on 95.3FM/AM 1570 The Score in Appleton, who is now just five Pirates losses away from owing me lunch. Here are some of the things we talked about:
- The Brewer hot streak, but also the fact that it's only playoff-relevant because the Wild Card leaders have fallen back.
- The differences between a Brewer team that played very well in August and so far in September and the one that didn't from April-July.
- The possibility of going young with the 2013 starting rotation, and possibilities for the financial savings if they decide to do so.
- Shaun Marcum and the decision the Brewers face with their least effective, free agent-to-be starting pitcher.
You can listen to this week's show here, and make plans to tune in next week when we do it again.
Then, if you'd like more of my voice, check out the archived audio from my appearance on The Watercooler with Jimmie Kaska on Sports Radio 1400 in Eau Claire. We discussed many of the same topics in shorter form.
