As seen on FSWisconsin:
As always we didn't hear the first question, but it was clearly about Aramis Ramirez leaving the game in the ninth.
Tweaked something. I don't know if it's a back or... this muscle that runs back behind. I don't know if - I don't think obliques go back that far, but maybe they do?
Intercostals?
Eh, intercostals are more in the ribs, so something back in here (pointing to back), I don't know.
When did he do that?
On his swing, his at-bat before. Did it on the first pitch and then felt it again on the base hit.
How bad do you think it is?
I don't know. he was fine on defense, but he didn't know if he could swing or not.
What did you think of Peralta?
Really good. Really happy with the way he threw. That first outing, you just, you dont know what's going to happen. You think it's going to go one or the other. Either it's going to be really good like it was or it, he's going to be wild and get hit around. So really happy with it. I don't know if you tinker with not sending him back out there, but 80 pitches. I just wished it would have been cleaner. But we made it interesting again.
Kind of happens, doesn't it?
It does.
Do you think on that double play it let him exhale?
Definitely, huge double play.
Like you said, you don't know what's going to happen, all of the sudden the score runs and he gets shaky.
Definitely, he made a good pitch, ran a fast ball in on him and jammed him pretty good. That was big.
Did you like his stuff? His velocity looked good.
Stuff was real good. Threw some nice Changeups, threw some nice sliders. So I think, yeah, we were all pleased with what he did.
is it important for them to get a good first inning?
I think it's really important. You hope that first inning goes well. Like you said, when we got the double play I think he's like "alright, got though that." And then he started pitching really well.
Marlins put up some runs really quickly, but Henderson was able to come in and settle the game back down and followed by K-Rod, as well.
Yeah, Henderson did a nice job there. We got ourselves in trouble and he came in - didn't throw many pitches, got a couple of outs. The sac fly and then the last one. And then Frankie real good, real good again in the eighth, so there's still a lot of positive things. I know we made the game close, but Rickie huge with the two homers. Corey huge with the last double. That was nice. Even Brauny, too, going after the guy at second base so he couldn't turn two with Luc hitting, so there was a lot of really good things.
Going back to Henderson - bases loaded and he was facing their two best hitters...
Yeah he's got good stuff, he's been throwing strikes for us and when he needs to throw a slider, he's been doing it, so he's been doing a real nice job.
Rickie's been blistering the balls for awhile now
He has. Those balls, man they're hit. And you know, the good thing, he's really seeing the ball well. He's laying off the breaking ball down and when he's doing that, if you're an opposing pitcher, you're in trouble.
What are your thoughts on the push you guys have made these last two weeks, the way you're playing.
Well, hopefully we continue this for a little bit, but if we do, it could be fun. Yeah, we're playing really good ball.
Does it surprise you to hear that you're only two games under .500 for the first time since May 4?
That's good to hear. Be better when you tell me we're .500.
But I mean, it's been a long push back.
It has been. You get down that far, you know you start moving some personnel around. You start - pitching staff is certainly not the same and you don't know what's going to happen.
