Aramis Ramirez's sudden departure from last night's game left the team in a tough situation: With him nursing a sore back and Cody Ransom claimed off waivers, the only available player on the roster with experience at third base is Ryan Braun.

As such, Adam McCalvy is reporting that Taylor Green has been recalled from Nashville to help cover the gap. Green appeared in 44 games for the Brewers earlier this season, batting .198/.287/.358 over 94 plate appearances and appearing at first, second and third base. He's a career .289/.370/.452 hitter in the minors but took a step back with Nashville in 2012, slugging just .408 with seven home runs in 77 games.

The fact that the Brewers opted not to call Green up earlier this week might be more interesting than the fact that they're calling him up now. As noted above, the Brewers had no one on the roster available to play third base when Ramirez left the game last night. Jeff Bianchi finished the game at the position for the first time as a professional and is starting there again today.

The move hasn't been confirmed but I'm assuming Green will join the team in St. Louis tomorrow.
