W: Josh Johnson (8-11)
L: Marco Estrada (2-6)
MVP: Jean Segura (.073)
LVP: Marco Estrada (-.236)
The Brewers couldn't do anything against Josh Johnson and the Marlins could do everything to Marco Estrada today. The Marlins got to Estrada early. He gave up 3 runs in a 30-pitch first inning. It didn't help matters that the Brewers allowed 6 doubles today and only had one extra-base hit for themselves, a triple by Norichika Aoki. Aoki was the man who got the offense done for Milwaukee today, stealing a base after being hit by pitch in the 1st, scoring on a Ryan Braun sacrifice in the 3rd, and sacrificing in a run in the 7th.
The Brewers missed out on two opportunities to score more runs, leaving two on in the 6th against Johnson and cracking Heath Bell with two outs in the 8th; Bell allowed a walk and a hit before Jeff Bianchi grounded out.
The game did feature the season debuts of Josh Stinson and Logan Schafer. Stinson pitched 0.1 inning in the 8th and allowed a hit. Schafer got a hit against Steve Cishek in his pinch-hit in the 9th.
