The Brewers fell behind early today and never came back.
The Giants plated two runs in the first today on four singles against Chris Narveson to take an early lead and it was all they needed, as the Crew was able to push just one run across against Matt Cain and the Giants. That lone run scored in the fourth on Alex Gonzalez's sac fly. Carlos Gomez was the only Brewer with multiple hits today and also drew a walk, keeping his batting average above .500 for the spring.
The two runs Narveson allowed in the first were the only ones he allowed all day, as he finished with five hits allowed without a walk and with a strikeout over three innings. The game got out of hand in the sixth when Jed Bradley allowed each of the first four batters he faced to reach and two runs scored. One of those batters reached on one of four Brewer errors today.
If you're looking for a silver lining today, I'll give you this: All ten hits allowed by Brewer pitchers were singles.
Cactus League play continues tomorrow when the Brewers host the Dodgers at 3 pm Central time.
