W: Randall Delgado (1-1)
L: Yovani Gallardo (0-1)
HR: Gerardo Parra (1)
The good news is that the first three pitchers to the mound for the Brewers only allowed two hits tonight. The bad news is that five runs still crossed the plate en route to a 7-0 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Yovani Gallardo's first post-WBC appearance got off to a rough start when he allowed a leadoff home run to Gerardo Parra, but he recovered beautifully from there to retire 12 batters in a row. His four innings pitched today were his longest outing of the spring, and he recorded five strikeouts.
The Brewer bats, meanwhile, managed just five hits (four singles and a Kentrail Davis double in the ninth) and three walks while being shut out for the first time this spring. Carlos Gomez had the first walk in his first appearance after signing his new contract this afternoon.
The Brewers have an off day tomorrow before resuming Cactus League play against the Indians on Friday.
