HR: Khris Davis 2 (5), Ryan Hanigan (1), Joey Votto (2)
It doesn't really feel like spring training until we've seen the first nine inning tie. Today's game had plenty of action, but no official result.
The Brewers jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first on four hits and an error, including an Aramis Ramirez double and Logan Schafer triple. The game was tied again in the third, though, when Khris Davis untied it with his first of two homers on the day. Davis went 3-for-3 today, scored three runs and drove in five.
Unfortunately, most of the Brewer pitchers really struggled today. Mike Fiers got roughed up, allowing five runs on eight hits over four innings. Travis Webb and Rob Wooten each allowed runs in their single innings of work, while Mike Gonzalez's rough spring continued as he allowed two runs in an inning.
Donovan Hand had the day's only encouraging pitching outing, throwing two shutout innings. He has yet to allow a run over eight innings this spring.
The Brewers travel to Glendale tomorrow to face the Dodgers. Yovani Gallardo will be on the mound for an abbreviated short-rest start at 3 pm, and the game will be televised via tape delay on MLB Network.
